Ukraine beats its own indicators for the export of sunflower

UkrAgroConsult experts say that for this marketing year the country exported 188 thousand tons of oilseeds. The number was a record for the last 5 seasons. In June, 5,5 thousand tons were sold to external markets, which is 5.4% less than in May, but the overall picture is impressive and next year it is planned to increase sales.The number of countries with interest to Ukrainian sunflower is also growing. Experts of the agency calculated that for this marketing season the oilseed crop is sold to 59 countries of the world. The EU remains the leader in procurement. They acquire 68% sunflower. Turkey also fell in love with our products. Last year, it purchased 16.1 thousand tons, and in this - 43 thousand tons, which is 23% of the total exports.Experts say that the growth of sunflower exports became possible not only due to high yields this year, but also to the well-coordinated cooperation of farmers, authorities and Ukrzaliznytsia.It should be said that Ukrainian farmers get more profit from selling ready-made sunflower-seed oil and will increase processing volumes, especially as demand for finished, high-quality Ukrainian products is growing all over the world.
