Producers of agricultural crops ask for the renewal of compensation for taxes when exporting oilseeds

Not so long ago, Ukrainian farmers sent a letter in which they expressed their request to cancel the non-reimbursement of the tax in case of export of oil crops to other countries. This letter was addressed to the President of Ukraine, as well as to the Prime Minister and the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada. This information was received from representatives of the All-Ukrainian Agrarian Rada. Representatives expressed their opinion that they want to resume tax refunds in case of export of oil crops. Based on the changes introduced in the Tax Code, which came into effect on January 1, 2018, the tax refund will be canceled between September 1, 2018 and December 31, 2021. The same changes apply to rapeseed and will be valid from January 1, 2020 to December 31, 2021.The letter, which is an official appeal, is asked to consider this issue as soon as possible and speed up the decision-making process. If this issue is not examined, the agrarians are ready to start mass protests. In fact, simple negotiations in this case will not work. In order to achieve a concrete result, it is necessary to act harshly and radically. Therefore, the letter specified the deadlines for which the deputies must take a decision. They have three weeks, and if during this period the bill that repeals the compensation of taxes will not be canceled, then the agrarians will pass to decisive action. The abolition of tax reimbursement means that when exporting oilseeds, it is the exporter's responsibility to pay a tax on VAT. Refusing to return taxes on soybeans and other fat-oil crops, a situation may arise in which the efficiency of these crops is reduced by 9%. In the end, entrepreneurs will have to reduce the amount of sowing of this crop. As a result, in 2018 the production of soybeans will be halved. In addition, it is worth noting, a decrease in sowing volumes will cause a decrease in the production of soybean meal, which is the main feed for cattle. This will lead to an increase in prices for dairy products, since dairy farms will start to import to us from Brazil. In this case, we can say that by adopting the bill on non-reimbursement of export VAT will damage the entire agricultural sector and, therefore, the economic condition of the country.
